"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him. In this way Love is made complete among us, there is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:16-19
What this All Means:
- Living the Love of Jesus -
At Dockery we are living the love of Jesus and this means that we are doing everything that we can to make Christ?s love real and tangible in our world. It means that we are living in love with Jesus and by the love of Jesus.
We are trying to:
Love others as Christ Loves us
Love not just in word but in deed
Love unconditionally
Love radically
Love irrationally
- Connecting the Unconnected -
God created you and me so that he could love us and be in relationship with us. We all have an emptiness that can only be filled by a connection to God. At Dockery Chapel we are living out the love of Jesus by connecting people to God and to each other.
Just as God created us to connect to him and have a relationship Him we are also created for relationships with others. No one should have to be alone or without community. Dockery longs to be a place where everyone finds true, deep and meaningful friendships with others who you can share your life with. Dockery desires to be a place where you can connect to God and others. Where you can love and be loved. Serve and be served. Know and be known.
- Growing In Relationship with Christ -
Our relationship with God is one that should be continually growing. At Dockery we want to be intentional about allowing God to work in our lives and make us more like Christ. We strive to grow day by day in our faith , knowledge, and love of Jesus. We long to be a community that encourages and inspires one another toward love and good deeds as we grow together in our relationship with Christ.
